Parents
READ gives parents a clear understanding of how their children are doing and the tools to understand how they can help.
READ is built as a tool to teach people to learn how to read - either in the classroom, at home, or through self-learning. READ is a comprehensive core literacy curriculum and Digital Personalized Learning (DPL) platform using scientific, evidence-based methodologies with proven effectiveness. READ is laser-focused on graphemes, phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
READ has tools for teachers and parents to use before children can read, as pre-readers, as new readers, English Language (EL) learners and to correct any reading deficiencies and dyslexia. No child with a reading deficiency, disability, or dyslexia should be held back in their ability to reach grade level and accelerate their literacy achievement. The scientific evidence shows that the same structured and scaffolded (each skill built on those learned before it) curriculum and methodologies should be used across all readers.
READ supports in-school learning, homework, and independent, in-school, or at-home self-guided (DPL) learning. READ has integrated tutorials so that teachers, students, and parents can understand both the overall approach and the goals at each curriculum level.
READ is designed to keep parents informed, to bring them into the learning process, and open, clear, and transparent communications with their children’s teachers.
