Tools to teach any child (or anyone) to read!
READ has a beautiful, simple, and intuitive approach to teaching literacy. READ supports digital media but also focuses on and promotes the use of real paper-based children’s books, particularly for learners up through 5-6 years old.
READ is designed to be fun to use, to engage and challenge, and to foster and reward achievement.
READ It is based on the evidence and learning science of how to teach reading and focused on a structured, scaffolded, multimodal immersion in graphemes, phonemic awareness, phonics, spelling, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
READ supports teaching literacy to a class, in small groups, one-on-one, or self-guided by the student (DPL). Short and targeted tutorials for teachers, parents, and students are embedded at every level in the curricular hierarchy, allowing everyone to understand both the methodology as well as the content and goals.
READ has tools to promote exposure to language and narrative for neonates and pre-readers, for reading to children, for teaching consonants and vowels, and for new readers starting K-2 or as English Language (EL) learners. It also has tools for advanced readers throughout K-12, readers in any grade or at any age with reading deficiencies, or dyslexia.
READ’s vision is to bring all students to grade-level achievement and then advance all readers at an accelerated pace.
Literacy is the key to equity.
